Health Professionals

Through the consistent implementation of high quality care, supported by the best available scientific evidence, SPLIT Project pretends to improve the care process, clinical outcomes and the satisfaction of low back pain patients who resort to primary healthcare.

Better care, less costs for the NHS

This project intends to create an integrated therapeutic response in two different levels of performance involving General Practitioners and Physiotherapists:

1) in the General Practitioner appointment, the therapeutic plan and referral to Physiotherapy will be adequate;

2) in the Physiotherapy, the intervention will be adequate according to the typology of risk that each patient presents to develop persistent and disabling pain.

The stratification of the risk of low back pain will allow a differentiated and personalized treatment to the patient, avoiding not only that the pain becomes chronic, but also decreasing the number of unnecessary and sometimes even harmful treatments to the patient in the he National Health Service.
