Low Back Pain
What you should know about low back pain
Low back pain is a symptom and not a disease!
Low back pain is a common, episodic and recurrent problem. It's a long-term condition with variable clinical course and multiple interrelated episodes.
Low back pain has a good prognosis!
Most episodes of low back pain have a short duration and favorable prognosis. About 90% of people recover within 6 to 8 weeks (you're expected to feel a marked reduction in the intensity of your pain and your incapacity to perform day-to-day or work activities).
The key problem is to prevent the development of persistent and disabling pain!
A key problem with low back pain is the number of people progressing from an acute condition to a persistent (disabling) condition. The recovery and effectiveness levels of most interventions are much more difficult to achieve in chronic conditions.
